My name is Kathy Cargile and my new hobby was born in October, 2019 in Frisco, Texas. I was recovering from a hip replacement and out of boredom, I found a cookie class online in Frisco, TX. My daughter, Anna Leigh and I attended the class and we were both amazed at how much fun it was! Then…we took another class and another class! Before I knew what was happening, we were hooked and we began making cookies for to share with my friends and as a “Thank You” to the mailman, Amazon delivery drivers, etc! Before I knew it, people began asking for orders for MY cookies! I could not wait to get back in the kitchen and bake more! I guess you can call me the crazy cookie lady! LOL!
After 30 years of service at American Airlines, I retired in September, 2020 and am now focusing on my next chapter and doing what I love to do….baking cookies, making homemade candies and the newest craze—Hot Cocoa Bombs! Please visit my gallery and see what the fuss is all about!
In my childhood our family got together the 1st weekend in December in Monroe, LA at my grandmother’s house to make her famous Christmas Candy!! I inherited her gift of cooking and making candy with her recipes and my friends and family every year since then!
There is nothing prettier to me than a bunch of cookies or homemade candies on a crystal platter which supports all holidays and occasions.
S0….Sugar Therapy was born. I thought of the name from the mental therapy I receive when baking cookies for various events and making people happy at a time when our world has gone haywire!
Hats off to you, Grannie Welker, for teaching me the love of family and cooking! I will carry on this tradition for the rest of my life and hopefully my daughters will also!
If a cookie makes someone smile, it makes me happy! I am excited to see where this journey will take me. I just hope Steve (my sweet hubby)will build me a little bakery with a large area to bake and teach classes at our retirement home in Petty, Texas ! I will pray hard for that one!
Thanks to everyone who support me in this journey and my grand idea of getting Therapy while you work! It is soooo sweet!
